Sandstone Sculpture- “I Want a Little Sugar in my Bowl”
Limited Edition of 25
Each client can choose any stone that suits their needs from a massive range- then my clay version Nina is sculpted by the only sculpting robot in the world. This is a completely unique and immersive experience.
So. here we have a unique piece of art, made in clay to match my “Nina” pictorial piece.
I wanted to capture the same flavour of the ancient African head bust sculptures with this Nina Simone study.
Melding the two images gives this piece a sense of empathy with Nina’s love of Africa, where she fled for 10 years following years of fighting for civil rights that just exhausted her to the core. Her efforts are not lost on me though and I wanted to show my deepest respect by fashioning this piece in her honour.
All she ever wanted was a little sugar in her bowl..
Respect.
Fine Art Giclee Printing
I use the finest printing method available to the artist. This is what is known as Giclee printing, where the original work is extensively scanned and further worked on through a collaborative edit with both artist and printer, to create the AP (Artists Proof), meaning the first ever agreed upon Giclee version of the original. These AP’s are worth seeking out as they make the artwork more desirable for any future sale.
To further explain, Giclee prints are amongst the best fine art reproductions available today, used for gallery and museum exhibition, limited editions, private collections, archives, and more. But what are they? What do you need to know to make or buy one? And what makes these prints worth it?
A true Giclée print refers to an archival print made from an inkjet printer equipped with a highly permanent set of inks in a wide range of colors. Artists, galleries, and collectors seek out giclée prints because of their unmatched standard of digital reproduction, and archival longevity.
Thus, any purchase of my artworks has the added bonus of being of only the highest quality inks and cutting edge technology to give longevity exceeding the properties of the original- in some cases.
