Icons- “Time” David Bowie
Acrylic on canvas.
Limited Edition Giclee Print of 50.
My tribute to the umswerving believer in pushing musical and sexuality boundaries to the enth degree.
David Bowie, the avant garde merchant in music had many guises and phases.
Here I’m focussing on Changes. The song concerning Time and the passing of Time. Time may change me, but I cant trace time.
The narrative covers DB’s passage of time AND the passage of media time. The digital age is already smashing in the path of AI and the image touches on this. The passage of media time is quicker than time itself. I’ve captured DB at possibly his happiest time of life, but then surrounded him with the passage of time as it constantly changes.
At the foot of the image we have the heart monitor line of life. This line shows a heart bet of Ziiggy Stardust- suggesting: suggesting, once a Bowie fan, always a Bowie fan.
Fine Art Giclee Printing
I use the finest printing method available to the artist. This is what is known as Giclee printing, where the original work is extensively scanned and further worked on through a collaborative edit with both artist and printer, to create the AP (Artists Proof), meaning the first ever agreed upon Giclee version of the original. These AP’s are worth seeking out as they make the artwork more desirable for any future sale.
To further explain, Giclee prints are amongst the best fine art reproductions available today, used for gallery and museum exhibition, limited editions, private collections, archives, and more. But what are they? What do you need to know to make or buy one? And what makes these prints worth it?
A true Giclée print refers to an archival print made from an inkjet printer equipped with a highly permanent set of inks in a wide range of colors. Artists, galleries, and collectors seek out giclée prints because of their unmatched standard of digital reproduction, and archival longevity.
Thus, any purchase of my artworks has the added bonus of being of only the highest quality inks and cutting edge technology to give longevity exceeding the properties of the original- in some cases.
