jazz- “Old School Ronnies”
Acrylic on board.
Original available.
A Limited Edition of 50 Giclee prints available.
This image came as a culmination of thoughts and the odd regret. Having been to Ronnie Scotts many times throughout the past 40 years, I’ve seen the changes slide in and in short, I miss the spit and sawdust of the old Ronnies. Stuffed to the rafters with an eclectic bunch of West End jazz revelers, tasting real jazz at its core. In a smoke filled cavern of exuberant style that just drips in jazz history. If it was at Ronnies, it was the best in its genre, whoever played.
So, here we have my attempt at capturing the rawness of such an evening. Raw lights without any style, just illuminating the sax player plying his craft with cig in hand. Fully charged and ready for a long night of raucous fun.
It could be Ronnie himself..
I can just hear the sax winding its way through various scales and hitting the dizzy heights that Ronny demanded from his cool acts.

Fine Art Giclee Printing
I use the finest printing method available to the artist. This is what is known as Giclee printing, where the original work is extensively scanned and further worked on through a collaborative edit with both artist and printer, to create the AP (Artists Proof), meaning the first ever agreed upon Giclee version of the original. These AP’s are worth seeking out as they make the artwork more desirable for any future sale.
To further explain, Giclee prints are amongst the best fine art reproductions available today, used for gallery and museum exhibition, limited editions, private collections, archives, and more. But what are they? What do you need to know to make or buy one? And what makes these prints worth it?
A true Giclée print refers to an archival print made from an inkjet printer equipped with a highly permanent set of inks in a wide range of colors. Artists, galleries, and collectors seek out giclée prints because of their unmatched standard of digital reproduction, and archival longevity.
Thus, any purchase of my artworks has the added bonus of being of only the highest quality inks and cutting edge technology to give longevity exceeding the properties of the original- in some cases.
